Terms and conditions

As a result of my waiting list becoming unmanageable and pupils failing to take up lessons, I now require a £62 deposit per person payable within 2 weeks of this email and I also require a reply providing as many of the details I have requested within this time, or I will remove people from my waiting list. This deposit is non-refundable but if ultimately, I teach someone to test then this will cover the cost of their test.

Additionally, and primarily for the same reason of effectively managing my waiting list, I won’t start teaching anyone who has not passed a theory test while I have other students waiting who have passed it. If I start teaching a student without a theory test pass, then there is an expectation that they would make every attempt to pass it as soon as possible due to the long wait time for tests. Under normal conditions I would expect an attempt at the test within 5 weeks of commencing lessons. A theory test can be booked up to 3 months in advance once a student has their provisional driving licence but can’t be sat before their 17th birthday.

There are numerous theory test app options however, it would seem to make sense to use The DVSA app.

All instruction is undertaken with an expectation that pupils will make every effort to prepare themselves for the practical driving test. As a result of this I now require that all pupils hold a valid theory test pass before I will provide them with driving lessons while I have other students waiting who have passed it. This can also have the effect of allowing people to start more quickly.

If any pupil cancels 3 lessons at short notice, or 4 or more lessons in total, then I reserve the right to terminate lessons and refund any monies owing from a block payment. I will do this pro rata (not using the daily rate for lessons delivered). I will not take this course of action where I deem the reasons for cancellation to be appropriate, but I may ask to see evidence of this.

A “no show” for a lesson without prior contact will require to be paid for on all occasions.
